We are very happy to announce that our collaboration with WOWnature, an organization dedicated to reforestation and forest conservation, has officially begun.

But let’s take a step back. Over the years, as a company, we have chosen to support, through our activities, projects that share our vision and that can make a real difference for the environment and for people. Some of you may remember the project with Worldrise for ocean conservation or the support for villages in Kenya through the wonderful Trame Africane project (still active today with our Bag in Box).

Along this journey, we found WOWnature, an organization that focuses on reforestation and forest conservation, in Italy and around the world, involving citizens and companies in concrete and measurable projects. As soon as we discovered their initiatives, many of which are also linked to the protection of forests and woodland areas in our own territory, we realized we had found the right partner!

What immediately struck us was the sharing of the same values: respect for nature, attention to the future and the desire to turn words into action. It’s not just about supporting a project, but about taking real action to enhance local ecosystems and biodiversity in our territory. In fact, WOWnature was created as an initiative of Etifor | Valuing Nature, a spin-off of the University of Padua and a certified B Corp.

The first project: protecting Lio Piccolo (VE)

Our desire to support local projects has taken shape in a first valuable conservation initiative in the evocative setting of Lio Piccolo, in the Venice Lagoon. A peaceful area with breathtaking views and rich biodiversity that needs to be protected.

This area has a unique history: it was once a fishing valley, a landscape of water, embankments and trees coexisting in balance. Over the past 30 years, however, abandonment has transformed this area: the embankments have deteriorated, trees have disappeared and the winter cold combined with strong bora winds has made the environment less and less hospitable for the fish and birds that once lived there.

By joining the WOWnature initiative, we have planted our first 34 trees!
The selected species are all native or perfectly suited to the lagoon ecosystem: juniper, holm oak, tamarisk, sea buckthorn, blackthorn and white poplar. Trees that not only enhance the landscape but also play a fundamental role: they protect the valleys from erosion, provide shelter for birds and wildlife and help preserve the typical fish fauna of the Venetian lagoon.

Contributing to this specific project is not only an act of responsibility, but also a desire to support our beloved territory with concrete actions. Because yes, Lio Piccolo is one of the natural gems of the region and an area that needs to be maintained with long-lasting, well-designed interventions.

Taking care of the environment for us is a daily choice that is renewed in every small action, from the detergent we choose for our home to the trees we decide to support.

The Lio Piccolo project is just the beginning of our journey: we plan to plant 200 trees by 2027. By supporting WOWnature, we will actively contribute to protecting and enhancing the places we love most.
