A year of more mindful choices, together

In 2025 we took an important step toward a lighter way of consuming (literally — you’ll see why in a moment), more responsible, and more aligned with the values that guide us every day.
Our Bag‑in‑Box formats — 10 kg and 5 kg — were chosen by thousands of families, shops and businesses that believe in a future with less waste.

And every BAG sold meant less plastic released into the environment. A lot less.

Why BAGs truly make a difference

Greenatural BAGs are designed to drastically reduce packaging weight compared to traditional bottles.
Here are the actual weights of our formats in 2025:

  • BAG 10 kg with large white tap → 71 g
  • BAG 10 kg with small red tap → 57 g
  • BAG 5 kg with tap → 43 g

For example, to obtain the same amount of product using traditional bottles, you would need many more plastic containers; for instance, one 10 kg Bag of Dishwasher Detergent corresponds to about 20 bottles of 500 ml. As you can already imagine, the plastic savings are extremely high!

How we calculate plastic savings

Il metodo è semplice e trasparente:

  1. We take the number of BAGs sold in 2025 for each format.
  2. We multiply the weight of a single BAG by the number of BAGs sold for that format.
  3. We calculate how many bottles would have been needed to contain the same volume of product.
    We estimate liters and kilograms as equivalent (so 10 kg = 10 one‑liter bottles). For bottles, we use the standard Greenatural packaged product formats as reference: for laundry products, 1‑liter bottles; for multi‑purpose cleaners, 500 ml spray bottles; for hand soap, 500 ml pump bottles; for body wash/shampoo, 250 ml bottles.
  4. We multiply the weight of the equivalent bottles by the number of BAGs associated with that format.
  5. We subtract the two values → and that gives us the plastic savings.

It’s a linear, verifiable method; to simplify it even further, the calculation is:
(number of BAGs sold × their weight) minus (number of bottles needed for the equivalent volume × their weight).

📊 The 2025 result: plastic saved

Adding all formats together and comparing the weight of the BAGs with the weight of the equivalent bottles, 2025 closes with an important figure: 16,929,667 grams of plastic saved!
That’s almost 17 tons less plastic.

A number that surprised even us. And even if we take into account the conservative assumption that some customers still use a virgin bottle to transfer the product (estimated weight 60 g), the savings remain very significant: 15,423,247 grams. More than 15 tons of plastic!

This result truly matters to us 💚

Every ton of plastic saved means:

  • less virgin plastic being produced;
  • less waste to manage;
  • less bulk in transport;
  • a more conscious consumption model.

But above all, it means that people’s everyday choices have a real impact.
